Glass glue classification

Glass sealant, a commonly used household adhesive, is a material used to bond and seal various types of glass to other substrates. Its main components are sodium silicate, acetic acid, and organic silicone. There are many types of glass sealant on the market; let's learn about their classifications.

Glass sealant can be divided into two categories based on its packaging: single-component and two-component. Single-component glass sealant cures simply by contact with moisture in the air, while two-component sealant requires mixing the two components to cure. Single-component glass sealant is more common in home decoration. Furthermore, according to its properties, glass sealant can be divided into acidic and neutral sealants. Acidic sealants have stronger adhesion but are also more corrosive; therefore, neutral glass sealant, which has weaker corrosiveness and moderate adhesion, is more commonly used in home decoration.
